Our Featured Car
____________________________

Periodically we feature a member's car on our website.
It's a great way to show off some of our club's finest
automobiles. It's also to tempt other members to
send in
their pictures, in the hopes that their MG will be
the featured car!

Don and Suzanne Stewart
1960 MGA
I bought the car in 1993.  I was looking for an MGA in relatively solid condition but in need of restoration.
A restoration was something I wanted to see if I was capable of doing myself.  While going to visit a
business colleague in Upper St. Clair in the South Hills I got a brief glimpse out in front of a gas station
of what looked like either an MGA or Austin Healey with a For Sale sign on it.  By the time I was finished
with the meeting, I drove back, but the car was inside and the gas station was closed.  That weekend
was one of Bud Osbourne's Washington County tours.  I mentioned seeing the car, and Bud said a
Triumph club member had looked at the car. He confirmed it was an MGA, and said it was in decent
condition.  The Triumph club member was looking for something a little nicer than this one.  So I called
the gas station and made an appointment to check out the car.  It belonged to a friend of the owner and
the story was the owners wife was tired of having several "project" cars in the driveway and told her
husband to pick one and get rid of the rest!  After a reasonable inspection, I came home with a 1960
Old English White MGA 1600 roadster.
